Today's weight: 151.8. A gain of 0.8 pounds. Since last week showed me a loss of 5.8 pounds, a gain was expected. But... I must be honest... After having my first perfect week in several weeks (no binging, consistent exercise, TONS of fruit & veggies), seeing a gain was a tad bit irritating. I was hoping I would've at least stayed the same. Oh well. It is what it is.
I took the day off from work today. Slept in a little and then did levels 2 & 3 of the 30 Day Shred DVD back to back, followed by a weight routine with bench presses (30 pounds) and deadlifts (50 pounds). I'm starting to dig deadlifts now that I increased the weight. I can feel my abs, legs, arms and chest all working all at once. It's really easy to talk myself out of lifting, but once I actually do it, I start to enjoy it because I'm more in tune with my muscles and can literally feel myself getting stronger. Feels pretty bad-ass.
That's about it, really. Not much else to report. Hopefully I'll have a more exciting post next week. Have a great weekend!

Weigh-in Day.
Today's weight: 151. A loss of 5.8 pounds. Now, don't get me wrong; this is totally cool and all, but my weight has fluctuated like crazy the past few weeks, so it's hard to believe that this number will last. Let's take a look at some previous weigh-ins, shall we?
-10/30/09: 156.8
-10/23/09: 157.4
-10/16/09: 153.8
-10/9/09: 152.4
-10/2/09: 156.6
Insane. But, it also kinda makes sense. Those past weeks included a few extreme binge days, followed by extreme workout days, so my body didn't know what the hell to do. I really don't want to repeat a cycle like that again. Weekends are always a battle for me, so all I want to achieve over the next few days is balance. And, with the exception of Halloween, I managed to achieve some pretty damn good balance this week. I've been eating just the right amount of food (and enjoying it!) and I've been keeping my workouts in check by not overdoing it and being more aware of certain cues (muscle soreness, feelings of sluggishness versus feeling energized, etc.).
One thing that has probably helped is not having my regular heart rate monitor that tells me how many calories I burn. I had to send it away to be serviced this week, so I've had to go back to doing estimates on calories burned during workouts. Not my preferred method, obviously, but it has taken some of the underlying pressure off. It's allowed me to just be more in tune with my heart rate and breathing patterns on my own, instead of a monitor telling me where I'm at. I think it just forced me to work out smarter, as opposed to just doing whatever it takes to burn 700 calories at a time.
ANYWHO, in more exciting news, I can now fit comfortably into some size 7/8 jeans I bought a couple of months ago. I think I was more excited about that than seeing 151 on the scale. And a size 7/8 is pretty much where I wanted to end up anyway. Hooray!
Although I'm trying to move away from the numbers game, I can't help but point out that today's weight puts me at 97 pounds lost. Three pounds away from that elusive 100 pound mark. Sigh. I'm just going to take things one pound (and one day) at a time. I think changing up my fitness routine and being more aware of my diet this week really helped to move me in a new direction where I might possibly reach 148 without having to kill myself with stress.
Overall though, 3 pounds isn't going to change the way I look at this point and since I'm finally coming around and sort of loving the way I look now (especially in these jeans), I'm more concerned with just being happy with myself and feeling good.

Back, Weigh-in.
Ok- update time (told ya the bout of silence would probably be only a few days, heh).
First, we'll start with this morning's weigh-in: 156.8. A loss of 0.6 pounds. It was/is that time of the month for me and I ate reeeeally shitty last Friday, so that's the best I can hope for. After gaining the past two weeks, I was so relieved to see things go in the other direction this morning, for once.
I'm still in a funk, but I'm working through it. I'm stuck in limbo between wanting to lose more weight and maintaining. As of right now, I'd like to get to 153. That would put me at a total loss of 95 pounds. And once I get there (or if I get there, rather), I'll figure out my new plan of action. For now though, I need to see my good ol' ticker as a reminder of how far I've come:

I get caught up in the numbers in front of me all the time and often forget about past progress. Shame, shame, shame.
I've been eating really healthy this week. Lots of broccoli slaw, bell peppers, acorn squash, spinach, brussels sprouts- the list goes on. Just eating my way through seasonal produce deals, one day at a time, heh.
And then there's fitness. BUUUUHHHH. No, I haven't stopped working out. I wish I could, but I feel guilty and worthless if I don't. I've still been plugging along, every day. Just trying to re-evaluate my routines as well as my relationship with fitness in general. I'm not 100% sure, but after reading some fitness articles, I might have been over-training myself the past, I dunno, 1-2 months? So I'm trying to back down from my usual 600-800 calorie burning sessions and focusing on shorter, higher-intensity routines. For example, this morning at the gym, I did a stairmaster interval workout that kicked my ass, but it went by super fast. Five minute warm-up, 30 minutes of intervals, 5 minute cool-down. I totally couldn't do any level beyond 8, but it was a good challenge that got my heart rate up higher than it has been in weeks. Definitely a much-needed boost. Even though I couldn't do the routine as marked, I still felt accomplished because I made it through something that was hard. Prior to this morning, I haven't felt that sense of accomplishment in weeks because my usual routine was essentially getting easy and I was subconsciously bored and comfortable.
Tomorrow we're going to a Halloween party. I really need to have a somewhat normal weekend where I don't completely blow my points in a single night. I'm not going to plan my strategy too much in advance though, because it usually backfires. I'm just going to try and have as normal of a day as I can and just focus on enjoying myself and being around friends. Booze and candy should just be in the background somewhere, not necessarily the highlight of the evening. I will be at the gym beforehand though, trying out this elliptical interval routine. Gotta get some sort of sweat session in as back-up, I suppose.
There will be more updates in the future, but certainly not daily like I was doing before. And no more food lists because I think everyone has a pretty sound idea of what I eat day-to-day by now. But I'll still share any good recipes/meal ideas I come across.
I'm slowly trying to work out some post-goal issues as best as I can. I've discovered that I still don't have a 100% normal relationship with food yet. And I don't know if I ever will, but it would be nice to at least be less anxious around it. I hate that nagging feeling of desperation that I get in certain food-related situations. It makes me feel pathetic and I want it to stop. I want to feel strong again. And normal.

Weigh-in Day.
Today's weight: 157.4. A gain of 3.4 pounds. Fuck you, body. I don't ever know what the hell you want from me the majority of the time. Yes, I had a couple of bad days this week, but not enough for a 3+ pound gain. Jesus. My net loss this past month was +0.2 pounds. So no loss at all, really. Fantastic. I wasn't discouraged about the gain until I saw that the entire past month was basically a waste of time.

EXERCISE:
Biggest Loser Boot Camp this morning. I almost went back to bed after seeing the number on the scale, but I knew I would be regretful later in the day if I didn't workout.
==============================
Trying to stay positive since the weekend is almost here and my cold seems to be on its way out. And I know I need to focus on keeping things balanced. When I start going into extremes with food and exercise, the scale shows it, every time. I think my body got stressed this week and I probably didn't cut myself enough slack the past few days. Maybe I should have ate more. Maybe I didn't work out enough? Who knows. I never do. It was exciting falling below my 90 pound mark, but perhaps it was a fluke and the 140s and I really weren't meant to be. I'll keep trying a little longer, but I must admit, I won't be nearly as optimistic as I have been.

Weigh-in Day.
Today's weight: 153.8. A gain of 1.4 pounds. Hey, I'm totally cool with that. A person my size can't expect to maintain (or even add to) a 4 pound loss from the previous week. My body is trying to balance itself out and I get that. Although I used a little more allowance points than the previous week, all in all I did all of the right things this week. Good mix of fitness routines and lots of healthy foods (hell, I ate a whole acorn squash by myself last night alone). It's not like I ate tacos and drank beer all week, so there's no reason for me to be discouraged by this at all. And, hello? It's Friday! How can I not be in a good mood? I didn't even sleep particularly well last night, but I'm here and only 9 hours away from the weekend. Holla!

total points used: 61/22
activity points: Biggest Loser Boot Camp, all levels (3.5), jump rope (.5)- 4
net points: 57

So I made a crustless pumpkin pie yesterday. Not bad! Especially for only one point per slice! Definitely will be making it again, but next time, I think I'll add a full cup of Splenda (versus 2/3) and less pumpkin pie spice. It was just a little too much for my taste. Nice little amount of protein too, thanks to the egg beaters.
EXERCISE:
Did some BL Boot Camp. Used heavier weights during some of the moves and focused more on my form. Burned a decent amount of calories. By the time it was over, I was so close to 400 cals, I just jumped rope for a few minutes to even things out.
Not sure what I'll do tomorrow. Either hit the gym or do Jillian Michaels' Banish Fat/Boost Metabolism DVD.

Weigh-in Day.
(***If you're new to the blog, feel free to read my introductory posts and my Not-so-secret-Secret to Weight Loss.)
Today's weight: 152.4. A loss of 4.2 pounds! I shit you not, folks. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but the 100-pound goal is back on!

As for what I did, all I can say is that I found a good balance of cardio and weight-training, along with eating a few extra points here and there. Just did my best to keep things balanced and consistent.
I almost have to laugh at this because I look back at this past summer and how long it took me to get out of the 160s. I was starting to think that my body had this pre-determined weight that it would not let me go under. Turns out I just needed to work out smarter and make a few changes to my diet (more fruits & veggies, less carb-y/processed snacks). Ta-da!
FOOD:
breakfast:
f.f. cottage cheese w/ pumpkin- 2
kashi cereal- 1
snack:
apple- 1

lunch:

10 almonds- 1.5
snack:
tootsie pop- 1
coffee w/ protein powder- .5
dinner:
wahoo's shrimp burrito- 9
holey donut- 4
post-dinner:
yoplait delight- 2
fries- 10 (?)
total points used: 37/22
activity points: day off
net points: 37
WAPs: 20/35 remaining
I'm expecting a variety pack of chicken sausages from Bilinski Sausages (damn you, Food Network!), so I'm planning on making some of those and knocking out the other spaghetti squash I got.
EXERCISE:
Taking the day off today. GASP!, I know. The majority of my upper body started feeling sore yesterday afternoon, but it was still that "nice" kind of sore at the time. This morning though, it was just plain painful, so I decided that weight lifting was out of the question today. My last day off from working out was September 16th, so I kinda deserve this one.

Weigh-in Day.
(***If you're new to the blog, feel free to read my introductory posts and my Not-so-secret-Secret to Weight Loss.)
Today's weight: 156.6. A loss of 0.4 pounds. Hey, given that it's that time of the month, I will GLADLY take that! I was certain I would show a gain this week.
COOKIES! Ok, quick review of the Chewy Chocolate Cheek Cookies I got yesterday: First off, they're SMALL. So disappointingly small. Like, no bigger than an Oreo, really. Just a little thicker. And of course, I should have known better, even though the pictures (and the feature on Food Network) made them look 4x bigger.
BUT! Size isn't everything. After being disgusted by the sheer tininess, I hastily took a bite and quickly realized why it was so small. This was, by far, one of the best chewy chocolate cookies I had ever tasted in my entire life, both as a former fat-kid and a fit health-conscious lass. They are RICH! And CHEWY! And DECADENT! Definitely made from high-quality ingredients, no doubt.
So now I know. Will I buy them in the future? Probably not. It was just one of those frivolous things that I wanted to try and now I have and I'm over it. Yes, they taste awesome, but they're still expensive and unnecessary.
And each one is actually 2.5 points, not 2 (110 cal/6g fat/1g fiber). Hooray for them including nutritional info! Moving on...

Not sure what dinner will be. I pulled out some chicken, but then I remembered that I bought a huge bag of shrimp too. I'm thinking something with spaghetti squash. Sweet, delicious spaghetti squash.
EXERCISE:
More intervals at the gym. I was going to impose the no-more-than-500-calories rule again this morning, but then I remembered that I was planning on getting a slice of Tres Leches cake tonight, so I pushed and burned an extra 100. If I had more time, I probably would have shot for 700 or 800. Yes, this cake is so awesome that I'm willing to suffer for it, haha.
Today's routine:
-15 min. warm-up/run
-15 min. stair master
-15 min. elliptical/cool-down
Smelly Guy #1 was using one of the incline trainers again, so I didn't even bother trying to suffer through the smell. Just skipped incline training all together. And I was fine with that since I skipped the stair master yesterday (thanks to Smelly Guy #2). Still got a killer workout on my legs which is all that really matters.
Debating the gym tomorrow. And I know the weight system is going to take a good chunk of the day to set up, so I'll probably just do a Gym Junkies workout with my dumbbells. I don't have space in my workout room to do much else since the equipment boxes are in the way. We'll see. I'm feeling sadistic and kinda want to do the routine with the burpees again. Just about killed me last time, but I kinda loved it.

GOAL.
Today's weight: 157. A loss of 1.6 pounds! But more importantly... I HIT THE 90 POUND MARK! (and then some!)
The scale pic:

Started the journey May 2007. It's been a damn long haul, but worth it, obviously.
So what now? Well, I must confess, I'm not going to start maintenance quite yet. Between surpassing my goal by a pound and my recent plans to implement a new fitness routine and fine-tune my diet, I'd like to see if I can lose any more. Call me crazy, but I'm somewhat confident that by pushing my body a little harder and eating even cleaner, I could maybe knock out another pound... or five. I'll see how things go over the next month and work forward from there.
What's your reward? Unfortunately, my budget won't really allow for the type of big reward I was hoping to give myself (new clothes shopping spree, a trip, a jumbo gourmet cupcake, etc.). It leaves me a little bummed, but if I may be so old and wise and cheesy and shit, I've already been rewarded in so many ways. I've added years to my life, significantly reduced my risk of diabetes (take THAT family history!), I've become a runner, I've bought normal-sized clothes off of a clearance rack, I've built a whole new loving, respectable relationship with food and I just feel plain great. These are all things I never would have imagined accomplishing at 248 pounds.
Oh, and I suppose my super-short haircut was also a reward too, even though it was done pre-goal, heh.
ANYWHO, on to the before/after pics:
BEFORE, 248 pounds:

AFTER, 157 pounds:

I don't want to ramble, so I will just say thank you to EVERYONE who supported me through this. Your kind encouragement was greatly appreciated and I could not have done it without you.
And, although it's a cliché, if I can do this, you better believe that you can too. Make a promise to yourself. Be disciplined. Be selfish. Respect yourself and your goal. Seek out support from others, but always remember that only you can make the necessary diet and exercise changes to become a healthy individual.
Everybody has the ability to do this, it's just a matter of changing your attitude, taking responsibility for your actions and throwing any and all excuses out the window. Everyone deserves to be healthy, plain and simple. And it's NEVER too late to start, even if it's for the 100th time.

Weigh-in Day.
Today's weight: 158.6. A loss of 0.2 pounds. Well, I didn't gain, to my surprise. But geez- I really am going to have to get to goal ounces at a time, eh? I know, I'm never satisfied. It's still a loss, which is good. I think I jinxed things by putting the digital camera in the bathroom last night. I thought, "Well, if I happen to make goal by some miracle, I want to have the camera handy." Not quite there yet.
Plan of action for the coming week? Well, eat a bit more I suppose. And I definitely didn't get enough healthy fats this week, compared to the week before, which I think helped my previous loss. I hate trying to get fat in though! I'd rather eat a whole sandwich instead of a handful of almonds, y'know? I hate spending points on things that don't fill me up. Especially since I struggled to stay within 22 daily points this week. Sigh. It's a tricky thing to balance, so I'll just have to plan, plan, plan I guess.

Planning on going to Noodles & Company for dinner tonight. Pretty easy place to eat, in terms of keeping points low. Looking forward to it.
EXERCISE:
Went to the gym this morning for another HIIT session. I'm finding the stair master to be quite the big calorie-burner. I'm probably most conscious of my breathing while on that machine than any other. It's tough, but so far I'm enjoying the challenge!
Today's routine:
-10 min. run (1 mile)
-15 min. incline training
-15 min. stair master
-15 min. elliptical/cool-down
I always tell myself I'm going to stop at 500 calories, but when I get to a good stopping point, I see that I'm a little over 500 and think "Oh hell, just push it to 600!" And some days I'll push it to 700 or 800. I need to cool it, haha. I feel so satisfied with myself afterward though, so it's hard not to push myself to that point, unless I'm totally exhausted for some reason. Wish I had that same motivation with weight training. Buh.
Anywho. Enough of that. It's Friday! Woo!

Weigh-in Day.
Today's weight: 158.8. A loss of 4.2 pounds! Happy to see this, obviously. Though, it's hard to say how much of that was lost period bloat from the week before and how much was lost by eating more healthy fats (or, eating more in general, thanks to Saturday's party) AND starting my HIIT workout routine. Lots of different factors to consider, so I can't say for sure what, specifically, led to such a big loss. Ah well. I don't want to over-think it too much because it takes from the thrill of being in the 150s!
Yesterday, I decided against getting my free 11-point noodle bowl from Pei Wei and opted for cooking dinner at home (I e-mailed them last night for nutritional info since it's a new item and wasn't on their website; got a response this morning and it turns out I can get it prepared with vegetable stock instead of oil and save a couple of points). I just figured the bowl would probably have loads of sodium (and it does), which isn't the best choice the night before a weigh-in. However, I really don't feel like cooking tonight, so I think a big, free bowl of noodles will be appropriate for a Friday night.
I also made some Hungry Girl Pumpkin Bread. God, I love that stuff. I froze half of the loaf in hopes that I won't eat it all in one weekend, but we'll see how long I last, haha. It's such a great recipe because the slices are a generous size and make me feel like I truly am indulging. Plus, being damn tasty and only 2 points per slice doesn't hurt either. I had to go to 3 different stores to find the canned pumpkin though. Wal-mart and Safeway were out, so I finally went to King Soopers as a last resort and luckily they had some cans of the store-brand stuff. I remember reading in Hungry Girl that Libby (the main canned pumpkin company) had some crop issues this year, so they've been out of stock for a while.
On a different note, I also went shopping at Plato's Closet and picked up four tops and a pair of jeans for $23. I'm a total broke-ass these days, so it was exciting to snag a few new things on the cheap. I've been wearing the same 4 or 5 shirts for a few months now (all of my old clothes are too big, obviously) and it was driving me nuts. It's so weird (and awesome) to be able to shop off of a clearance rack for smaller sizes. Most tops I can just hold up to me and tell that they'll fit. All the tops I got were size medium. The jeans were size 8, but also kinda stretchy, so I consider them a generous size 8. Being a size 8 was my goal, but I don't consider myself a size 8 right now because most brands I've tried don't quite fit yet. I more of a 9, I guess. Anywho, definitely going back there to shop after I get paid again at the end of the month.

Did a Jillian Michaels DVD this morning. God, I still hate those jumping scissor kicks she makes you do. I hadn't done that DVD in a while, so I forgot how rough some of those moves were. Oh well. They got my heart pumping, so I won't complain.
As for tomorrow, I'm not sure what I'm doing for exercise. I think the weather's gonna be crappy, so I may have to opt for the gym if I want to run. We'll see. I wouldn't mind going to the gym; weekends are always a nice time to go. And if I do go, I'll probably spend some extra time on the weight machines too.
Ok, I think I've rambled enough. Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Weigh-in Day.
Today's weight: 163. A gain of 3 pounds. Stupid uterus. And what's more annoying is that I didn't really get a good idea on how eating within my points worked (or didn't work) after doing the Wendie Plan the previous week, where I ate considerably more.
So my plan of action this week? I don't fucking know. More strength training? More points? I'm officially running out of ideas and it's getting to the point where I might seek out the help of an expert who can look at what I've been doing and point out a perfect fix that I'm clearly missing.
I guess I'll just continue to eat more of my activity points again. I'm hesitant to make any real changes this coming week because I don't know if my gain was 100% due to period bloat or if I didn't eat enough. I won't swear off allowance points like I did last week though. We're having a going away party for some friends tomorrow and I want to enjoy myself. I don't want to go overboard, but I want to indulge a bit, within reason.
ARRRRGHHH. I'm ready to just cut off one of my limbs so I can yell "Goal!" and call it a day.
Anywho. One thing I have noticed when I look over my entries at The Daily Plate is that I don't eat a lot of fat. Even on days where I eat more and go over my points, my fat intake stays pretty low. So, I'm going to try and make an effort to work on that this week. I've been taking my fish oil capsule every morning, but that's not enough when I load up on lean protein and low-fat fiber stuff all day. And it's hard to find a balance between eating more healthy fats and still not blowing my points, but I need to at least try.

EXERCISE:
Went to the gym again this morning for more incline training. One positive note about my morning was that there was hardly anyone there. I guess Fridays are a good day to go. All the incline trainers were open when I got there.
The workout itself though was kinda grueling because I was in crap mood from the weigh-in. That's been one drawback to working out in the mornings, especially Fridays. If I'm not happy with the scale (which I haven't been for a few months now), my motivation to workout takes a dive. I still pushed through it, but I quit after burning 500 calories because I didn't see the point in doing anymore.
================================
So, here I am, another frustrated morning. My confidence has taken a blow the past couple of months. I've had to make compromises and it makes me feel defeated. I've given up on my 100 pound goal. And that's fine. But I can't even make it to 90 pounds. That is my goal again because it will put me at a normal BMI. And that's why this is so frustrating. I'm not trying to get to the lowest weight possible in the weight range for my age/height. I think that's the impression some of my friends/family/coworkers are under. I'm just trying not to be considered overweight. And it's getting more and more difficult each week to face the fact that I am still considered overweight, despite how hard I work. Yes, I know it's only by a few pounds, but killing myself to make it to the bare minimum is just freaking me out right now.
I'm trying to be patient, but it's been 2.5 years since I started this journey. And although I've come a long way, I'm so full of resentment right now that I can no longer see the finish line. I'm just going through the motions each week and becoming less and less optimistic with each weigh-in.
I know this is turning into a pity-post and for that, I apologize. I'm just being honest. It's getting harder and harder to be happy with myself. And I know that I'm the only one who can change my attitude, but there's nothing to inspire me at the moment. I've read dozens and dozens of articles from health/fitness magazines and websites and continue to do so each week. I have all this knowledge on weight-loss and a healthy lifestyle and for a while, that new knowledge was keeping me motivated. But now, as I search for new things to try, I feel like I'm reading the same things over and over and it just leaves me kinda numb.
I guess before I figure out what food to eat and what workout to do, the first thing I need to work on is getting out of this stupid funk.

EXERCISE:
Another morning workout at the gym with some good incline training. Heart rate monitor didn't crap out, but did freak out a couple of times and said I was working at 117% of my maximum heart rate. Ugh. Stupid technology.
That's all for now. I gotta get goin'!
Today's weight: 160.2. A loss of 1.8 pounds. Cool? I guess between my unexplained gain last week and the Wendie Plan this week, I was hoping to be down at least another pound. Whatever. Back to the normal plan this week.

Weigh-in Day.
Today's weight: 162. A gain of 2.2 pounds. Um, what? Seriously? I'm really, really not happy to see this. At all. First of all, I was so close to hitting the 90 pounds mark and having a normal BMI. Second, I'm back in the 160s. I've been trying to get out of the 160s since May. And here we are, rolling out of August and September will be here before you know it. Third, I kicked ass this week. I had one day (last Saturday) where I went over my points, but it wasn't even close enough to warrant a 2 pound gain. I earned 34 activity points this week; 3400 calories burned.
An unwarranted gain is nothing new to me. I've experienced them before. It's just part of the process. I understand that. But I'm just so tired of wild card weigh-ins, be they good or bad, where I really cannot figure out what worked/didn't work that week. I only have a couple of guesses for this week: 1) I didn't eat enough in relation to my activity; 2) I experienced a lot of bloating from eating a lot of fiber? I don't know. I usually eat a lot of fiber anyway, so I'm not sure what made this week different. I did notice I've been super-bloated the past few days, but I thought working out would get rid of it. I had a couple of days where my sodium was a bit high, but nothing insane. It was a pretty normal week, in terms of food. I did consume a lot more caffeine than normal though... I got on a coffee kick this week and I usually never drink the stuff, let alone a cup every day. I don't think that was the culprit though... I don't friggin' know.
I know, "I've come so far!" Blah, blah, blah. I know I've accomplished a lot as far as the big picture goes, but to be perfectly honest, I really don't give a shit about the big picture right now. And at this very moment, I don't even know what I care about. I'm so frustrated and desperate to know exactly why my body does what it does week to week, that I can't really focus on anything else.
SIGH. I'll be alright. I'll get over it (already starting to). I just needed to bitch 'n' whine. I'm still a little lost on how to approach this week. I'm still debating on whether or not to try the Wendie Plan. Perhaps I've hit a plateau and I've just been in denial for the past month. I don't know.I suppose it's worth a shot, but at the same time, I'm going out of town this weekend, to grandma's house no less, so trying to stick to a new plan may be kind of tricky. I'll mull it over some more. I'm gonna try it, starting today.
FOOD:
Brief re-cap: The Kashi Pesto Primavera Pasta dish from lunch yesterday: Meh. On the upside, it had a lot of veggies, but overall, I just wasn't feeling the flavor. It was just kind of oily and blah. The Lemongrass Coconut Chicken on the other hand- totally awesome.
For dinner, I went with salmon tacos with a side of green beans. And I discovered a new way to jazz up green beans a bit: salt, pepper, couple sprays of spray butter and a dab of sour cream. The extra bit of creaminess just really made the beans taste, well, awesome.

EXERCISE:
Since I worked out Wednesday morning (my usual day off), I'm taking today off instead. That, and I'm a little sore from my P90X workout last night. It wasn't too bad. It was still challenging, but I kept up with it better than I thought I would. I actually skipped Chest & Back because I'm in the process of acquiring the proper equipment. I'm getting my dumbbells today and I'm waiting on a door attachment for resistance bands. Apparently, somehow attaching bands to your door and pulling them that way serves as an alternative to the pull-up bar. I might get the pull-up bar eventually, but can't justify the cost right now.
Anywho, so I skipped to the second workout, which was Plyometrics (jump training). I have to give Jillian Michaels some credit on this one, because she does a lot of that in her DVDs too, so I think that's the main reason why I was able to keep up. That, and Tony likes to take breaks. Lots of 'em. Jillian never takes breaks, so stopping every few minutes took some getting used to.
He goes at a slower pace too, which is good in the sense that you can focus on form a bit more and get more out of the move, instead of trying to do it super-fast and half-assing it.
My least favorite move during that whole workout was what he called "Hot Feet." You basically hopped on one leg and tried to make a cross figure with your foot (up, back, left, right). It doesn't sound like much, but staying on the same foot for just 30 seconds KILLED me. Hadn't felt a burn in my leg like that in a long time.
Overall, I liked it (well, as much as you could like a workout DVD called P90X). I liked the pace, I liked the little timer on the bottom of the screen and I like how my ass is killing me right now; that means I pushed myself. I'm looking forward to trying some of the other stuff, especially more of the weight/strength/resistance stuff.
I also got the new[ish] Biggest Loser Bootcamp DVD in the mail yesterday, so I'm still debating on trying that tomorrow or doing another P90X workout. I'm not leaving for my grandparents' until the afternoon, so I'll have time in the morning to do something. We'll see.
